A woman is dead after a two-vehicle accident in the Fern Creek neighborhood Wednesday evening, Louisville Metro Police said.

Seventh Division officers, along with firefighters and emergency medical services, responded to a call about a vehicle collision on Bardstown Road at Iona Court.

Mitchell said the LMPD's preliminary investigation revealed the woman was making a left turn from the Harley Center in the 5300 block of Bardstown Road into the southbound lanes when she was hit by another vehicle traveling in the same direction. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The four people in the other vehicle were taken to the University of Louisville Hospital for evaluation, Mitchell said.

Mitchell said the LMPD Traffic Unit is investigating the incident.
