He was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital but died shortly afterwards. Police believe speed was a factor in the crash. The victim's identity has not been released.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Louisville police said a man has died from his injuries after he was involved in a motorcycle crash Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened around 1 p.m. in the 3700 block of Taylorsville Road near Furman Boulevard. Investigators and witnesses said the man was riding the motorcycle east on Taylorsville Road when he crashed into the back of a car that was turning left.

The man lost control of the motorcycle and was ejected. Police said they do believe speed was a factor in the crash.

EMS and first responders gave the man medical treatment before he was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital. However, he died not long after his arrival. His name has not been released at this time.
