Historic Louisville Cemetery cleanup on Saturday
Volunteers will continue work to clear weeds, trash and overgrowth at the cemetery. A community cleanup is set for Saturday at the historic Louisville Cemetery in Louisville, Ky. The goal is to keep the cemetery clean and accessible for families visiting loved ones. Tammy Fletcher, president of the Louisville Cemetery Improvement Association, urges volunteers to bring their own trash bags, water, work supplies and protective gear. This comes after people with loved ones buried at the cemetery began demanding action due to overgrowth. Since then, community members have stepped in to restore the grounds. This is the fifth event held at the site and over 60 people have volunteered there.
