Louisville family court judge suspended over courtroom misconduct

A family court judge has been suspended after a state watchdog group looked into several complaints about how she runs her courtroom. Louisville family court judge, Lauren Ogden, has been suspended without pay for 30 days by a state watchdog group after several complaints about her courtroom management. The commission found that Ogden violated judicial conduct rules on several levels, including acting unprofessionally and not being fair or impartial. In one case, she allegedly denied due process to a domestic violence order without letting a man provide evidence or letting him be heard. She also allegedly let a non-custodial relative remove a child from the mother's custody in another state without notice. Ogden will not perform any judicial duties and must complete an education course about proper conduct during hearings.
