King Tide Event To Bring Flooding To Southeast

The Southeast coast faces major flooding from King Tides and strong winds today, with South Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina hit hardest. Flooding reached over two feet in Florida on Monday. Coastal warnings remain, with conditions expected to improve after midweek. The Southeast coast is expected to see another day of major flooding due to King Tides and strong winds pushing seawater towards shore. Parts of South Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina are expected to be the hardest hit, with dangerous rip currents and hazardous surf also affecting the region. The King Tide event has broken several records in South Florida and may exceed those set by hurricanes. Coastal Flood Warnings are in place across parts of South Miami, Georgia and the South Carolina Lowcountry, where repeated tidal inundation could flood roads, low-lying neighborhoods, and waterfront infrastructure. This is the worst round of King Tide measured in South Miami since Hurricane Irma in 2017.
