The charges stem from cases in California, Florida, Nevada, New York and Pennsylvania involving noncitizens who allegedly voted in federal elections and falsely claimed U.S. citizenship to register to vote or cast a ballot. Over half of the charges were brought in California against noncitizens from a wide variety of countries, including Belize, Mexico, Cambodia, India, Canada and the Philippines.
