FRANKFORT, Ky. — Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC) recognized its top lending partners last night at the 18th Annual Lender Awards at the Galt House in Louisville. The evening event was a return to an in-person awards ceremony after two years of virtual acknowledgments.

The Lender Awards allow KHC to celebrate the people and companies that drive our loan production and make homeownership affordable through KHC’s mortgage loans and down payment assistance. In 2022, 608 loan officers working for over 100 companies closed 3,169 loans for a total loan volume of $537.5 million.

“Tonight, we celebrate all of the companies and loan officers who have made affordable homeownership possible for Kentuckians,” said Winston Miller, KHC’s executive director and chief executive officer. “Despite challenges, our lending partners changed the lives of 3,169 families last year. We applaud their efforts and thank them for their commitment to affordable homeownership.”

As the state housing finance agency, KHC understands the importance of having a place to call home. Homeownership, in particular, has long been a way for families to gain stability and make short-term financial gains while building generational wealth. There is also a correlation between stable neighborhoods and strong communities with social and civic engagement and more access to education and economic opportunities.

“KHC is thankful for the strong partnerships we have forged with loan officers who advance affordable housing in our state and the lending firms that make this work possible,” said Jaime Rice, KHC’s managing director of single-family programs. “The loans we all work on are more than just numbers. They’re homebuyers. They’re Kentuckians. Despite the challenges of 2022, KHC had a great year of production because our partners never forget the importance of helping people.”

KHC awarded the following individuals and companies at last night’s event. For a complete listing of top lenders, visit the 2022 Top Lenders page.
