LOUISVILLE, Ky. — After more than a decade working as a very successful mid-major Division I coach, Pat Kelsey has accepted Louisville's offer to become its next basketball coach, that according to Matt Norlander from CBS Sports.

Kelsey spent the last three seasons in the Lowcountry where he went 74-27 record and guided the Cougars to consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances the past two seasons.

Before moving to Charleston, Kelsey spent nine seasons in Rock Hill where he took Winthrop to the NCAA Tournament twice. He would have had a third trip to the Big Dance at Winthrop after the Eagles won the 2020 Big South Tournament but COVID-19 wiped out the entire sports calendar.

Louisville recently fired Kenny Payne who last two seasons there, going 8-24 this past season.
