Man arrested during alleged bank robbery attempt
The attempted robbery happened April 3 at the Chase Bank located 3901 S. 7th Street. Eric Lakeith Harris, a 28-year-old man from Louisville, has been arrested for attempting to rob a bank in the Shively area. Harris allegedly went into the Chase Bank at 3901 S. 7th Street and began writing a note demanding cash and warning the teller not to alert police or security. The teller immediately locked her station and alerted Louisville Metro and Shively police. Harris was arrested inside the bank and later booked into Louisville Metro Corrections. A not guilty plea was entered during his arraignment and Bond was set at $50,000 cash.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A man who attempted to rob a bank in the Shively area now finds himself behind bars for his attempt to get cash.
Eric Lakeith Harris, 28, of Louisville, is being held on one count of robbery, first degree.
His arrest report says Harris went into the Chase Bank at 3901 S. 7th Street around 9:15 a.m. yesterday and went to a teller window. Harris then pulled out a notepad and began writing. When he finished, Harris showed the note to the teller. It was a demand for cash, with various amounts listed. There was also a warning to the teller not to alert police or security.
The report says after the teller read the note, she immediately locked her station and went into a back room. Another employee, who had been alerted to the robbery attempt, pressed the alarm to notify Louisville Metro and Shively police.
Harris was arrested inside the bank by Shively officers, who were the first to arrive on the scene. He was turned over to LMPD Robbery Unit detectives and booked into Louisville Metro Corrections.
A not guilty plea was entered for Harris during his arraignment today. Bond was set at $50,000 cash and a public defender was appointed to represent him.
Harris will be back in court April 12 for a preliminary hearing.
