Interim Jefferson County Clerk David Yates officially launched a campaign to keep the position. David Yates, the interim Jefferson County Clerk, has officially launched his campaign to retain his position. He was appointed after former County Clerk Bobbie Holsclaw died in September. Since taking office, he has faced challenges such as overseeing the Senate District 37 special election. He has previously served as a Kentucky State Senator and a member of the National Guard.
