AGO. HE’S NOW IN THE STUDIO WITH US. RANDALL, WHAT DID YOU SEE? YOU KNOW, VICKI, THESE TORNADOES ARE ALWAYS SO STRANGE. YOU’LL SEE ONE HOUSE WITH SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE RIGHT NEXT DOOR. A HOME THAT’S PERFECTLY FINE. HERE’S A GOOD LOOK NOW AT WHAT WE’RE TALKING ABOUT. WLKY NEWS CHOPPER. WE GET A CLEAR VIEW OF EXTENSIVE DAMAGE. THE TORNADO LEFT BEHIND. THIS IS THE CRYSTAL SPRINGS SUBDIVISION JUST OFF INTERSTATE 265, IN JEFFERSONVILLE. IT’S A NEIGHBORHOOD NOW COVERED IN BLUE TARPS PROTECTING RIPPED OFF ROOFS. LOOKING AT THIS HOME, YOU CAN SEE A SIDE WALL COMPLETELY BLOWN OUT A STREET OVER. WE GET A LOOK INTO AN ATTIC OVER A GARAGE LEFT EXPOSED TO THE ELEMENTS BY THE HIGH WINDS PRODUCED BY THE EF ONE TORNADO. THIS DEBRIS FIELD BETWEEN HOMES SHOWS THE POWER OF MOTHER NATURE FROM THE AIR. WE WATCHED AS A LARGE TOW TRUCK WORKED TO BRING A DAMAGED RECREATIONAL CAMPER BACK UPRIGHT FROM THE GROUND. WE COULD SEE RAPID ROOF REPAIRS HAPPENING ALL OVER CRYSTAL SPRINGS. KEITH FITZ RODE OUT THE TWISTER WITH HIS WIFE, SON, DAUGHTER, AND TWO DOGS. A LOT OF DEBRIS FLYING AROUND, A LOT OF WIND. OBVIOUSLY WE HEAR THE RAIN, BUT WE COULD ALSO JUST HEAR THINGS HITTING THE HOUSE, HITTING, YOU KNOW, TEARING THINGS OFF. AND IT WAS A SHORT BURST, MAYBE TEN MINUTES OF THAT. AND THEN QUIET. THAT’S WHEN FITZ WENT OUTSIDE TO SURVEY THE DAMAGE. THE FRONT PART OF THE ROOF ON THE GARAGE WAS TORE OFF. AND THEN THE IN BETWEEN TWO BEDROOMS. IT LOOKED LIKE SOMETHING WAS PICKED UP AND PUNCHED DOWN INTO THE ROOF, AND IT WAS ACTUALLY POURING WATER INTO THE HOUSE. AND WHILE REPAIRS WILL HAVE TO BE MADE, FITZ SAYS HE KNOWS HOW LUCKY HIS FAMILY WAS TO ESCAPE INJURY. A LOT OF THE NEIGHBORS WERE LIKE, OH, YOU’RE SO CALM. IT’S LIKE, HEY, NOBODY WAS HURT. THAT’S THE MAIN THING. AND FITZ TELLS ME HE WAS ABOUT TO PUT HIS HOUSE ON THE MARKET. BUT THAT FOR SALE SIGN WILL HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL REPAIRS ARE MADE. WHILE THE TORNADO SHOOK UP JEFFERSONVILLE PRETTY GOOD. THERE WERE NO LIFE THREATENING INJURIES OR DEATHS AS
